Tips for the conference
NGS has created a page on their website conference pages titled "Tips for First Time Conference Attendees" http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/cs/conferences_events/annual_conference/tips_for_first_time_conference_attendees
Although this page's title is "Tips for First Time Conference Attendees," anyone attending the conference can pick up some pointers about how to plan and what to expect at the conference.
One helpful tip is to bring business cards or a pad of paper to exchange contact information with people you meet at the conference. If you don't have business cards, they can be easily printed with your home computer printer or ordered from an online printing site. Some sites like Vistaprint and 123print offer 50-100 cards free. Consider listing the surnames you are researching on the card.
If you have a SmartPhone, consider using a business card scanning app like CamCard or a generic scanning app like TurboScan to keep all those cards organized.
Take a few minutes to review the information. Whether this is your first conference or your tenth conference, there are lots of good tips on the page.
